Here you will find answers to the most common questions about SmartMate Temperature Control.
Absolutely, you can name the sensors to fit your operations. Here's how:
1. Start by finding the sensor ID, located on the label attached to the sensor.
2. From the bottom menu, select Sensors to view a list of your active sensors.
3. Click on the sensor ID whose name you want to change.
4. At the top, select the Settings tab.
5. In the Alias field, choose a name for the sensor. Finish by clicking Save.
You can easily specify the minimum and maximum temperature you accept for each sensor. If the temperature deviates, SmartMate will alert you.
You can also set a duration since short-term deviations might be acceptable. Customize each sensor to suit your preferences. Here's how to configure these alarms:
1. Open the Temperature Control service and click Settings from the bottom menu.
2. Select Alarm Settings.
3. A list of your sensors will appear. Expand the dropdown for the sensor you wish to adjust. Set the minimum and maximum temperature and specify the duration. This duration defines how long the temperature must remain outside your limits before triggering an alarm.
4. Click Save and proceed with the settings for the other sensors.
5. To choose how you receive alarms (we offer push notifications, email, and SMS), go to Settings and My Profile.
Tip: You can also access alarm settings from the sensor overview. Inside each sensor, click the Settings tab.
When your sensors detect a temperature deviation in your fridge or freezer, they will trigger an alarm. This alarm will appear in your alarm log under the Alarm menu, clearly marked with the status TRIGGERED. Here's how to handle and resolve the alarm in SmartMate:
1. Go to Alarm in the bottom menu. Click on the triggered alarm you want to handle.
2. Add a response or comment indicating how you addressed the temperature deviation. Click OK.
The alarm will remain in your alarm log but will now be marked with the status HANDLED.
Depending on the type of sensor in your system, you can get temperature readings or both temperature and humidity. All values collected by your sensor are displayed in SmartMate. However, at the moment, you can only set alarms for temperature deviations.
If your sensor loses connection, you will receive a push notification from the app. In the Sensors section of the bottom menu, you will clearly see which sensor is affected, marked as NO SIGNAL.
Here are some simple steps to troubleshoot before concluding it’s defective:
1. Start by restarting SmartMate, then reopen the app.
2. Check the sensor's battery. Does the battery icon in SmartMate show it’s low or dead? If yes, contact us at SmartMate@tingstad.se, and we’ll send a new battery within a few days. If not, proceed to step 3.
3. Have you recently moved the sensor, or has a new "obstacle" appeared between the sensor and the receiver? If the sensor is more than approximately 25 meters from the receiver or is separated by a wall or floor, the signal can be affected. Try moving the sensor closer to the receiver and wait 10 minutes. Does it reconnect? If so, we can help you optimize your setup. Contact us at SmartMate@tingstad.se, and we’ll get back to you within 24 hours. If it still doesn’t reconnect, go to step 4.
4. The sensor is likely defective. We’ll replace it free of charge. Contact us at SmartMate@tingstad.se, and we’ll send you a new sensor.
Sensors require battery replacement every few years, depending on placement and temperature fluctuations in the room.
On our website, we offer packages including instructions, a screwdriver, and a battery so you can quickly and easily replace the battery on-site.
If you prefer, we can visit and replace the battery for you for a fee. Send us an email, and a technician will contact you shortly: smartmate@tingstad.se.

Note:
If your facility has power and the issue is with SmartMate’s connection, we recommend manually monitoring your fridge and freezer units until the connection is restored.

Yes, you can create entirely custom tasks tailored to your needs. You can choose between tasks completed by checking a checkbox or by entering text or numbers into an input field. Here’s how to create a custom control point:
1. Tap Add New in the bottom menu and select Create Custom Task.

4. Select under which Control Point category the task should be placed.
5. Activate using the icon if you want the task to be recurring.
6. Set a deadline date. If the task is recurring, the date you set here will be the first instance SmartMate will prompt you to complete the task. It will then recur in your Checklist according to the interval you specify.
If you want to skip completing a specific task or the entire week’s checklist for one week, you can do so as follows:
1. Go to This Week's Checklist.
