Cutlery care instructions
For your cutlery to stay clean and fresh for many years, they must be looked after.
Below we will give you some practical tips on how to extend the life of your cutlery:
WASH THE CUTLERY IMMEDIATELY AFTER USE
Washing the cutlery immediately after use reduces the risk of settling stains. If you can’t wash them right away, you should at least rinse them.
PUT THE KNIVES IN A SEPARATE COMPARTMENT
Knives are often made of chrome steel, so they can be sharpened. Chrome steel can be extra sensitive to rust, and one way to prevent rust formation is to not mix spoons and forks with knives in the dishwasher.
AVOID LETTING THE CUTLERY SOAK
To avoid stains, you should not let the cutlery soak in water or be in direct contact with each other. If wet cutlery is placed against each other, galvanism can occur, which can lead to stains on the cutlery. After washing, you should dry the cutlery as soon as possible.
HAND WASH CUTLERY WITH WOODEN HANDLES OR GOLD
Cutlery with wooden handles and cutlery with gold details should always be washed by hand. This will make the products last longer.
POLISH WITH A GENTLE POLISHING AGENT
If you got stains on the cutlery, you could polish the stains off using a polishing agent intended for stainless steel. Avoid products with abrasives or steel wool as it scratches instead of restoring the shine.
BOIL AWAY STUBBORN STAINS
Stainless steel cutlery tends to darken over time, and a thorough cleaning is needed. To clean the cutlery, boil them for a couple of minutes in a stainless-steel pan with dishwasher detergent or white laundry detergent. When the cooking process is finished, wash the cutlery as usual and dry them.
