Shopping for pens is not always easy. There are many different pen types to keep track on. On this page we will give you information about different types of pens an popular brands.
Types of pens
BALLPOINT PEN
Ballpoint pens are an ink pen that has a rolling ball at the tip where ink is transferred when writing. The ball often have a diameter between 0.5 and 1 mm. Writing with a ballpoint pen gives you a soft and comfortable feel. Ballpoint pens have an ink that is viscous and that dries quickly.
Ballpoint pens are very popular and in our range we have several different options from manufacturers such as Pilot, BIC, Ballograf and Staedtler.

GEL PEN
Gel pen is a pen that is closely related to ballpoint pens. Compared to ballpoint pens, gel pens are softer and more comfortable to write with. This is because the ink in a gel pen is in gel form that slides smoothly when writing.

FINELINER PENS
Fineliner pen are a pen with liquid ink that often have a thinner tip made from textile or acrylic that distributes the color. Fineliner pens are available in several different widths and are perfect for having a pen to draw with or write thinly.
MECHANICAL PENCIL
Mechanical pencil are pencils that you feed with a pigment core made of graphite. This core is also called lead. You mechanically extends the lead as needed when writing. The biggest advantage whit this pentype over traditional pencils is that you do not need to sharpen this type of pen in a pencil sharpener. When the lead is finished, you can easily replace the leads with new ones.
There are several different thicknesses on the leads and each pen is adapted for one type of lead. The most common thicknesses are:
- 0.5 mm
- 0.7 mm
FOUNTAIN PEN
Fountain pen are a type of ink pen that is filled with liquid ink stored in the pen body. The ink is then feeded out through the tip of the pen. The tip can can be made of either steel, silver, gold or in some cases glass.
