An unclean desk makes it harder for you to stay focused and can even expose you to stress. By cleaning and organizing your desk, you give yourself the best conditions for increasing your productivity and focus. Other benefits of cleaning your desk are that you reduce the risk of spreading diseases and bacteria.
A thorough cleaning of the desk should be carried out at least once a month. By cleaning your workspace after each workday, you reduce the time you need to spend on the thorough cleaning.

How to clean your desk
- Remove everything from the desk
- Clean the space with all purpuse spray and microfiber cloth
- Go through your papers. Sort your papers after ongoing projects and finished projects. Throw away papers that you dont need.
- Get desk storage options and only have papers relevant to ongoing projects on the desk
- You can either file your finished projects or throw it in the paper collection
- Go over your post-it notes! Are they still current? Today there are many online solutions that can help you get organized like Trello or Microsoft Planner.
- Empty the trashcan

Clean your keyboard
- Disconnect the keyboard
- Turn it upside down to shake out crumbs. You can also use a compressed air spray to blow out the dirt.
- Wipe the keys with a microfiber cloth. The microfiber cloth should be easily moistened with water or a detergent. There are also wet wipes specially adapted for keyboard cleaning.
NOTE! Never spray cleaning agents directly on the keyboard!

Clean your computer screen
There are two methods for cleaning computer screens:
METHOD 1
- Turn off the computer screen. If you have a laptop, turn it off and wait until the screen cools down.
- Wipe the screen with a lightly moistened microfiber cloth. Rub gently until it is completely clean from dirt.
METHOD 2
- Turn off the computer screen
- Clean using screen wipes made for screen cleaning

Cleaning the desktop
- Remove loose items from the desk
- Spray the desk with an all-purpose cleaner and then wipe with a microfiber cloth. Alternatively, you can use antibacterial cleaning wipes adapted for desktop cleaning.
- Organize your papers and put everything back in order
- Do you need to sterilize? We recommend that you use a surface disinfectant. Spray on and then wait for the detergent to self-dry.
