Why descaling is an investment – not a cost
Limescale acts as insulation. Just a few millimetres of scale on a heating element can drastically increase energy consumption, as the heat no longer reaches the water as efficiently. In addition, a scaled-up machine becomes a breeding ground for bacteria, as the rough surface is difficult to clean.
