Bagasse Plates and Bowls

Most of the range consists of bagasse plates and bagasse bowls. Bagasse is the fibrous material left over from sugar production and is commonly used for disposable plates and food packaging. According to Tingstad's material guide, bagasse is a renewable raw material suitable for both hot and cold foods.

The range includes both brown and white models. Choose a colour that suits your serving concept and let the format and size guide your choice of product.

Round, Square, Oval, or Compartment Plates

The natural fibre plates are available in several formats, including round plates in 17.5, 22.5, and 26 cm sizes, square models measuring 20 × 20 cm and 26 × 26 cm, and oval plates measuring 26 × 19 cm.

For meals where different food items should be kept separate, the assortment also includes 26 cm plates with three compartments. Bowls with capacities of 20 cl and 40 cl are suitable when greater depth is required.

This means the choice should primarily be based on portion size, the shape of the dish, and whether food needs to be separated into compartments.

Bagasse or Wheat Straw?

In addition to bagasse, the range includes a three-compartment plate made from wheat straw. Wheat straw is a by-product of grain harvesting and can be used to manufacture paper-like disposable products. Tingstad's material guide describes both bagasse and wheat straw as suitable for hot and cold food service.

The materials have similar applications, although product construction and specifications may vary. Therefore, choose primarily according to the plate design and intended food application.

For Hot and Cold Food Service

Tingstad's material guide states that both bagasse and wheat straw are microwave-safe and can withstand temperatures up to +100°C at the material level.
