Why is a rinse aid important?
In a commercial dishwasher, everything happens fast. For the items to dry before they’re stacked, the water must “run off” immediately. The rinse aid breaks the water’s surface tension so that it forms a thin film instead of droplets. This not only prevents streaks and spots — it also reduces the risk of bacterial growth, as damp surfaces are a breeding ground for bacteria.
Choose the right product for your water (Acidic or Neutral?)
To achieve a perfect result, the rinse aid needs to match the water quality in your area:
- Hard water (high limescale): Choose an acidic rinse aid (often labelled “Anti‑limescale” or “HD”). The acid neutralises minerals in the water and prevents glasses from becoming cloudy or showing white spots.
- Soft water: If your water is naturally soft or you use an external softening system (osmosis), choose a neutral rinse aid.
Liquid or solid block?
We stock both universal products and system‑specific solutions:
- Liquid rinse aids: Suitable for most standard machines with a dosing tube. Available from 1L bottles to 10L canisters.
- System blocks & cartridges: We offer original refills for closed systems such as Ecolab Apex/SmartPower (solid blocks) and Diversey Revoflow/SafePack. These require compatible dosing equipment.
Tip: Washing lots of plastic? Plastic dries more slowly than porcelain because it retains less heat. Look for specialised rinse aids (e.g. Ecolab Clear Dry PL) developed to help trays and GN containers dry properly.
