Capacity is the most important factor when choosing a rice cooker for professional use. Here’s a simple guide:

A rice cooker with a capacity of 1.5–3 litres is suitable for cafés, sushi restaurants with a limited menu, and smaller kitchens with low rice demand. A 5–8 litre machine meets the needs of most medium-sized restaurants and can produce 30–40 portions per batch. For large kitchens and high-volume operations, machines of 10 litres and above support continuous production throughout service.

Keep-warm function and non-stick – essential in a busy kitchen

In a restaurant kitchen, timing is everything. All rice cookers in our range feature automatic keep-warm functions that activate when the rice is finished – maintaining serving temperature for several hours without overcooking or burning. The non-stick coating in the inner pot minimizes food waste and makes cleaning quick and easy after service.

Frequently asked questions about rice cookers

Capacity requirements are entirely based on the number of servings. A 5 to 8 litre rice cooker is often recommended for medium-sized restaurants and can produce up to 30–40 portions per batch. For larger operations and commercial kitchens, industrial machines above 10 litres are recommended.

When the rice is finished cooking, the machine automatically senses that the water has been absorbed and switches to keep-warm mode. This keeps the rice at a safe serving temperature (typically around 65–70°C) without overcooking or burning.
