Packing Tape for Cartons and Order Fulfilment

For many packing stations, 50 mm is a standard width, and several products are available in the common size of 50 mm × 66 m. The assortment also includes both shorter and longer rolls in different widths.

For high-volume operations, it is important to consider not only the cost per roll but also the number of metres per roll, rolls per carton, and how frequently rolls need to be replaced.

Paper, PP, PET, or PVC?

The product range includes both paper tape and plastic-based alternatives in PP, PET, and PVC.

Paper tape can be a suitable option when a paper surface is preferred on the packaging. One of Tingstad's brown Etab tapes, for example, is writable and printable and specified for light- to medium-weight cartons.

Among plastic tapes, constructions and adhesive types vary. Tesa Strong PP tape uses a water-based acrylic adhesive, while other products offer different materials and performance characteristics.

Always compare the adhesive type, material, and recommended application rather than assuming all brown or transparent packing tapes perform the same way.

Roll Length and Consumption at the Packing Station

A business sealing a few cartons per day has different requirements than a warehouse or e-commerce operation with continuous order fulfilment. Longer rolls and larger pack quantities can reduce roll changes in high-volume environments, while standard rolls may be easier to manage across multiple workstations.

If required, pair the tape with a packing tape dispenser suitable for the tape width. Many products in the range are designed for dispensers around 50 mm wide.
