Professional espresso cups designed to preserve temperature, crema, and flavor from machine to guest. At Tingstad, you’ll find a wide selection of espresso cups in porcelain, bone china, and stoneware from brands such as Churchill, Bonna, Schönwald, and APS, in volumes ranging from 6 cl up to 12 cl.
An espresso cup should be small, heavy, and warm. The small volume preserves the intensity of the espresso, thick porcelain retains heat, and a preheated cup keeps the crema intact for longer. These details make a real difference in a professional serving environment.
Volume determines the drink. A classic espresso is served in a 6–9 cl cup. If you want to serve ristretto or lungo, 8–12 cl provides greater flexibility.
Material and durability. Thick porcelain and bone china withstand intensive dishwasher use and daily handling. Stoneware gives a more rustic and distinctive look.
Serving and presentation. Choose cups with matching saucers for a consistent serving concept. Many of our ranges, such as Churchill Stonecast and Bonna Aura, are available as complete sets.
Espresso is one of the most commonly served coffee drinks within HoReCa, and the cup is part of the overall experience. In café and restaurant environments, espresso cups are chosen based on three factors: how well they retain heat, how they look when served, and how they handle intensive dishwashing routines. At Tingstad, you’ll find espresso cups in a range of series and materials, from classic white porcelain to handcrafted stoneware with organic shapes.
The classic conical shape of an espresso cup is not accidental. It makes it easier to stir sugar in the small volume and helps preserve the crema on the surface for longer. Thick walls insulate the heat, ensuring that the espresso stays hot from machine to guest, even when there is some distance between the barista and the table.
A cold cup will lower the temperature of the espresso within seconds. The recommendation is to preheat cups to 50–60°C, either on the coffee machine, in an oven, or with hot water. Espresso leaves the machine at around 80°C, and with a preheated cup, the drink maintains its optimal temperature all the way to the guest.
