Depending on your work assignment there are different requirements and safety sandals that are divided into several classes:
- SB: Only requirements for toe protection. Basic requirements
- S1: Steel toe cap, closed seat region, antistatic properties, oil, and gasoline-resistant sole
- S1P: Same as S1 but with anti-perforation sole
- S2: Same as S1 but with water-repellent upper
- S3: Same as S2, but with anti-perforation sole
- ESD: some work environments require shoes marked ESD, which means that the shoes dissipate static electricity
