High-visibility clothing for construction, infrastructure and industry

Requirements for high-visibility clothing in Sweden are governed by the Work Environment Authority’s regulations on personal protective equipment. As an employer, you are responsible for providing suitable hi-vis garments when risk assessments indicate a danger of accidents due to poor visibility.

Garments must be certified according to EN ISO 20471 and adapted to the specific work environment.

How to care for your high-visibility clothing

Dirt and wear reduce the visibility and reflective performance of hi-vis garments. Always wash them inside out and avoid detergents with optical brighteners and fabric softeners. Regularly check that reflective strips are not damaged or heavily soiled.
