Cold Plates & Chilled Serving Trays

Cold Plates for Buffets and Food Service

Cold plates and chilled trays can be used for cold cuts, cheese, dairy products, fruit, desserts, and other chilled dishes at buffets and self-service stations. They are also suitable when smaller quantities of chilled food need to be presented during catering or conference service.

The cooling duration and achievable temperature vary between models. Always follow the instructions for the specific cold plate and your organisation's temperature-control procedures.

Choose Size and GN Format

The range includes models in GN 1/1, GN 1/2, GN 1/3, GN 1/4 and GN 1/6.

GN formats make it easier to integrate cooling solutions with existing buffet systems and serving stations. Choose the format according to the area that needs cooling and the dishes, bowls, or serving accessories that will be placed on top.

Cold Plate or Complete Refrigerated Display

A standalone cold plate is suitable when used together with existing serving dishes or buffet components. Some models must be frozen before use. For example, the Staychill GN 1/1 should be frozen for at least eight hours and is specified by the manufacturer to maintain temperatures below +8°C for up to three hours without electricity. This is a product-specific feature and should not be generalised across the entire category.

For a more complete presentation, the assortment also includes refrigerated displays, frames, and roll-top models, where several components are combined into a buffet system.

Cleaning and Accessories

Cleaning requirements vary between products. The category includes both dishwasher-safe models and products that should not be cleaned in a dishwasher.

Always check the care instructions for each component, especially when combining cold plates, frames, covers, and other accessories within the same
