How to Choose the Right Cognac Glass
The shape of the glass determines how aromas and warmth are distributed — and it affects the experience more than most people think. Here are the most common types in our assortment.
Balloon Glass – the Classic Choice
The wide bowl and narrow opening collect the aromas and allow the spirit to develop in the glass. The balloon glass is naturally warmed by the hand, which enhances the rounder notes of cognac, brandy and armagnac. A standard choice in most bars and restaurants.
Snifter and Large Glasses – for Premium Service
A more spacious snifter gives the drink more room to breathe and is ideal when the quality of the spirit should be in focus. Also suitable for serving aged rum, whisky and other spirits with complex aroma profiles.
Degustation Glass – for Controlled Serving
Smaller glasses with a narrower opening are used when portion control and precision are more important than ceremony. Common for tastings, smaller servings and operations focused on reducing waste.
Glass Designed for Daily Use
Several of our series are made from tempered glass or Tritan crystal, which provides increased resistance to dishwashers and daily handling without losing visual appeal. Also see our selection of glass racks and dishwasher racks for safe storage.
